Terms of use
These terms cover your use of this website. They’re written in plain English so you can actually read them. Using the site means you accept them, so if something here doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t use the site.
Who runs this site
This website is operated by Landfills 2 Landmarks Foundation, of H4 Lake Avenue, Shito Street, East Legon, Accra, Ghana, of which Bale Index is an initiative. In these terms, “we”, “our” and “us” mean Bale Index and the Foundation that runs it; “you” means the person using the site.
What this site is
This is an information site. It explains what Bale Index does and how it works. It is not the Bale Index product itself: access to the platform is granted separately to approved organisations, under its own agreement. Nothing on this website is an offer, a contract or professional advice, and you shouldn’t treat it as legal, financial, regulatory or technical advice for your own situation.
The information you see here
We publish this content in good faith and keep it as accurate as we reasonably can, but we don’t promise it’s complete, current or error-free, and it can change without notice. Where a figure, dashboard or record is shown as an example, it is illustrative and clearly labelled as such: it is not live operational data and shouldn’t be relied on as a result. Any decision you make based on what you read here is your own.
Using the site properly
You may read the site and use its forms for their intended purpose. You agree not to misuse it: no attempting to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or its server, no scraping or automated harvesting beyond what a normal search engine does, no uploading anything harmful, and nothing unlawful. We may restrict or withdraw access if the site is being misused.
The forms
When you book a demo or subscribe to updates, you’re responsible for giving accurate information and for having the right to share any details you provide. How we handle what you send is set out in our Privacy notice. We may decline or not respond to a request at our discretion.
Our content and brand
The text, design, graphics, logos and other material on this site belong to Bale Index or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view it and share ordinary links to it. You may not copy, republish, sell or reuse it for your own purposes without our written permission. The Bale Index name and logo are ours; please don’t use them in a way that suggests a partnership or endorsement that isn’t real.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another organisation’s website, we do it for convenience. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or their handling of your information.
Availability
We aim to keep the site up and working, but we don’t guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, and we may need to take it down for maintenance, without notice.
Our responsibility to you
We provide this website as it is. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from relying on its content, or from it being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that can’t be limited or excluded under the law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the date below updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Getting in touch
If you have a question about these terms, use the book a demo form and mark it for the attention of legal, and we’ll route it to the right person.
